Biosolutions: a key to Mexico’s competitiveness, resilience and diversification
The biosolutions sector in Mexico is already creating value across the economy, but the potential ahead is much greater.
With the right policy framework, the sector could grow by 130% by 2035, with an economic value of approx. MXN 305,4 billion, equivalent to half of Mexico’s beer market in 2024.
The potential is not only exclusive to the sector itself, as value will be created across strategic sectors such as agriculture, food, energy, and manufacturing.

Unlock Mexico’s bioeconomy potential with biosolutions
Biosolutions are on the rise.
Are you ready?
With biosolutions touching so many industries, they're creating a virtuous cycle of jobs, growth and resilience for a secure and prosperous future.
Biosolutions can help Mexico strengthen strategic industries and diversify its manufacturing base. As Mexico advances Plan México, an enabling policy framework could help the sector grow by more than 130% by 2035, strengthening competitiveness and creating an industry equivalent to roughly half the size of the country's beer market.
As global supply chains face increasing uncertainty, biosolutions can strengthen Mexico's food and energy sovereignty. By reducing dependence on external inputs, they can support greater domestic production, a more resilient economy, and stronger supply chain stability.
Jobs supported by the biosolutions sector could more than double by 2035. The impact extends beyond the sector itself, with every direct biosolutions job generating an additional 1.4 jobs across the wider economy, creating opportunities across manufacturing, agriculture, food production, and related industries.

Mexico has an opportunity to strengthen strategic sectors such as agriculture, food, energy and manufacturing through biosolutions. Creating the conditions that allow these technologies to scale will be key to unlocking their full potential.

Mexico can strengthen its competitiveness, diversify its current manufacturing capacity and position itself as a green hub within the bioeconomy. This is Mexico’s moment.
